Rob9-16
Rob9-16 is a robotics club created for children and young people between the ages of 9 and 16 who are interested in engineering, programming, electronics and telecommunications. The aim of this club is to provide a practical and engaging educational experience where participants can explore and develop their skills in innovative and current technologies.
The initiative began in 2014/2015 and has been a great success since its launch. This success is evidenced not only by the high turnout of students, but also by the positive and encouraging testimonials from parents, who highlight the positive impact on learning and the personal development of young people. The club takes place on the Oeiras campus and is taught by students from the prestigious Instituto Superior Técnico.
The lessons are meticulously planned so that the young participants can understand and apply the knowledge, even without previous experience, without compromising on the essential and fundamental concepts. This balance allows each student the opportunity to learn in a fun and effective way.
Rob9-16’s activities take place during the Instituto Superior Técnico’s academic breaks, namely:
- Easter vacations;
- Christmas vacations;
- Summer vacation.
During these periods, participants have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge and skills in various areas, such as electronics, programming, 3D modeling and printing, and artificial intelligence. These activities are designed to provide young people with a practical and enriching experience that motivates them to explore the world of robotics and develop new solutions to technological problems.
The activity is in Portuguese.
