CMU Portugal opens applications for 12 PhD Scholarships in ICT

The admissions period will run from May 12th to June 15th.

The CMU Portugal Program will accept applications from May 12th to June 15th to award up to twelve Ph.D. scholarships in the area of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) funded by the Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia (FCT).

The fifth edition of the “Affiliated Ph.D. Programs” initiative, launched in 2021, is aimed at students who wish to complete a Ph.D. at a Portuguese University in the CMU Portugal-related areas: Machine Learning, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Engineering and Public Policy, Mechanical Engineering, Human-Computer Interaction, Computational Cognitive Neuroscience, Societal Computing, Language Technologies, and Robotics.

The 12 Ph.D. scholarships have a maximum duration of 4 years, including a period of up to 12 months of research at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) in the USA, entirely funded by FCT through the CMU Portugal Program. This period will allow students to develop their research projects in collaboration with the North American University.

The admissions period will run from May 12th to June 15th.
